In today's world it's so common to hear people say what they want and what they want to do, but you hardly ever hear anything about what has to be done to get there. I personally think it's fair to say we live in an instantaneous type of world. Everybody wants everything done right away on their time. But what happens when what you want or even what you need requires process?
Growing up in church and seeing the difference from then until now has opened my eyes to how conditioned we've become to "right now" prosperity. The fact that we have constant and instant information at our fingertips in the tech world doesn't make it any better. It's almost as if we've forgotten about longevity and long-suffering. No one wants to wait on anything or make sure they’re prepared for what they are even asking for. We often times forget that our requests come with a sacrifice. Are we able to manage what we are asking for? If everything we asked for were to fall in our laps right now, would we be able to sustain? Our patience has been diminished because of how fast the world moves.
We have so many examples of the promises God made to people and how it took time for them to come to pass but we forget that. Our focus is mainly on the promise or the blessing but we forget that there was a time before the miracle or blessing transpired. That space in time is where so many people fail and lose at. It’s a test of your appetite and your intent. Do you want it bad enough that you’ll wait for it? Or are you just trying to get a quick fix? So now consider your current state or situation. You may be in a place where you feel defeated and like God doesn't care. That's not the case at all. The process can be defined as many different things. Sometimes you may have to wait, you may have to suffer, and you may have to lose, but nevertheless it's necessary. The process is meant to prune, refine and equip so that you don't destroy what's for you because you weren't ready. Process is a necessity for the next phase of your life.
